Please note:

  • You are eligible for up to $1,250 of coverage a year, excluding emergency and prosthetic services.
  • With the exception of certain types of fillings and if you are a client in the Enhanced Dental Program, you will not be charged any clients fees as long as the dental services or benefits received are listed in the service agreement.
  • This program doesn’t reimburse you for dental services you pay for yourself.

*NEW Canadian Dental Care Plan

You may now be eligible for the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). This new federal program covers a broad range of services and is designed to make dental care more affordable.

If you already have health and dental coverage through Social Development (a white or yellow card), please apply. Both plans will provide you with more/better dental coverage!

If you receive support from the Department of Social Development, but do not have a health card, you might be eligible for the CDCP. Visit the Help paying for dental care page for more information.

How Do I Apply Steps

To apply for Social Development’s Dental Program, make an appointment with a dentist or denturist who:

  • accepts Social Development Health Cards, and
  • agrees to bill according to the agreement between Social Development and the New Brunswick Dental Society.

You will have to ask the dentist if this is the case.

At each appointment, you will need to present your Health Card to confirm your eligibility.

At each appointment, you will sign a claim form at your dentist’s or denturist's office.
